D.J. What Kind Are You?
There are many different kinds of djs with all different kinds of dj needs. Which one are you? Which type of dj / or djs are you going to be or are already?
Many dj's jump from one end of the spectrum to the next. This is a good thing because it gives them a wide range of knowledge on the subject.
Professional Disc Jockeys are always a necessity throughout everyones life. Music is a huge necessity to most everyone. Isn't it nice to know that you help enrich others lives so dramatically and they love you for it?

Generally there are 6 different types you can be. Which one(s) are you?
1. Mixing D.J. - This D.J. has his/her work cut out for them. They are a master of mixing, scratching, cutting and various dj techniques. This is by far the most talented of the bunch. They often don't have much (if any) mic work but they simply don't put on a cd either. Some of these d.j.'s use turntables, while some of them produce, while some use cd drives to mix. Please check out equipment needs here.
2. Club / Bar D.J. - This D.J. tends to have regular gigs at his/her consistant bars or clubs. Mic work is required about every 15 or so minutes and often has a consistant line-up of music to play. Whether they use cd's, minidisc's, or their personal laptop, the music only changes with the times for the most part. Check out the Club / Bar D.J.'s equipment here
4. Mobile D.J. - The standard (but not always correct) venues for this d.j. are; weddings, class reunions, parties, school dances, etc. This style of d.j.ing requires them to often times have larger vehicles for transporting all sorts of equipment from lighting to P.A.! This d.j. has regular music that they always play but has to keep up with times to be successful. NOTE: be careful! This d.j. can work with younger crowds so much of the music has to be somewhat PG13! To see what equipment this d.j. needs click here!
5. Karaoke D.J.- This D.J. has the aspects of both the Club D.J. and the Mobile D.J. but with a twist! You have to be an astentacious one for this job! You have to get used to singing in front of groups of people! Check equipment needs here.
6. Radio D.J. - Want to be heard? This D.J.'s mouth is definitely his/her money maker! This d.j. is more or less stationary and... Well who hasn't heard a radio d.j. before? enough said!
