Why Turntables?

Turntables are the classic reliable medium for any d.j.  Those who d.j. electronic music or mix most of the time will choose this, as the industry requires such.  You can't beat the authentic sound of vinyl either.  When it comes to picking out your turntables, do your homework and don't get the cheapest ones out there if you are really serious about what you want to do.  If you aren't serious no one will take you serious.  If you are starting out and want some decent turntables my suggestions would be the standard Technics sl1200's.  They work well, they're reliable, they are very versatile.  When you purchase turntables,  my suggestion also would be to buy direct-drive as opposed to belt-driven.  This is especially important if you want to scratch or do any tricks of the such.
